Ok, I know I'm a HORTICULTURIST but all anyone wants to talk to me about these days is chickens! So, I'll be on "Think" tomorrow, Tuesday 9/22, at 1pm. KERA 90.1.

Cool!  Thanks for the heads up.  I’ll do my best to tune in.

That was a great show—an hour wasn’t long enough.

It was scary to hear about that guy in Lewisville.  I had researched ordinances from multiple cities in the north Dallas area, but didn’t see anything in Lewisville about coop placement.  Did that lady say she got some kind of zoning exemption?  Wonder if I could do that.

Thank you for emphasizing that even “free range” eggs are not produced by happy chickens roaming in the sun and the green grass, and that eggs laid by chickens who DO get to do that are healthier and better-tasting.  And thanks for spending time talking about the chickens’ personalities and how easy it is to care for them and keep the coop clean—hopefully that will clear up a few misconceptions some of the listeners may have.  Since you and Sarah are both well-spoken and obviously knowledgeable on the subject, I’m hoping that this may have served to change a few minds, or at least get people to consider the issue seriously.

Hey Gretchen, thanks for listening. I know that there were probably a lot of questions people had that we couldn’t get to. You’re right, one hour is no where near enough time!
